Brazil
Mazagão Smallholders decide where to clear forest, within the 20% of the property they are legally allowed to deforest. However, 3 ha can only be deforested per year, and an anual permit is needed to do so. Deforestation permits not always sought.
OCT Communal forest is not cleared. Location of clearings outside the community forest but on communal lands is internally regulated, within the legal limits.
