Generic vulnerability framework made up of three dimensions the literature suggests are important in assessing vulnerability: (1) agroecosystem resilience that measures the extent to which the agroecosystem can tolerate climatic shocks and remain productive; (2) socioeconomic affluence that measures the extent to which households will have access to the assets needed to maintain livelihoods in the event of an environmental shock; and (3) institutional capacity that measures the extent to which institutions in society will provide effective crisis relief.
